COVID-19 Precautionary Measures

Issued: March 13, 2020

In response to concerns over COVID-19, and following the recommendations outlined by the Canadian Government and World Health Organization, we are implementing additional precautionary measures above our normal safety practices here at First For Safety. The health of our entire community and economy is so very important to us, and as our business is that of safety, we are going to continue to make calm and informed decisions.

We are confident in continuing our classes/programs at this time, and always take the health and well-being of our course participants, instructors, employees the families of those we service into consideration. While we continue to offer courses, we request your support in implementing the following:

  • We encourage participants to stay home if they are experiencing flu like symptoms (runny nose, cough, fever, difficulty breathing, etc.). We will be screening all course participants and anyone showing signs or symptoms will be requested to reschedule.
  • If you have traveled or have been in close contact with persons who have traveled in the last 14 days, we kindly ask that you postpone your training – please email for details.
  • Class sizes will be capped to smaller sizes and therefore registration may be limited on some dates.

Sanitization and disinfecting our training equipment and spaces has always been and continues to remain a priority for us. In addition to our stringent sanitization practices between each course, we are using a healthcare grade disinfectant (viricide) on all classroom and training entrance/hallway surfaces (chairs, tables, and training equipment), and have removed reusable items from the classroom (pens, manuals, coffee cups). We are issuing each participant their own training manikins that are not to be shared, and rest assured all training manikins as always, is soaked in a 12% chlorine bleach solution before being sanitized with a 70% alcohol solution.

Please refer to our Training Coordinator, Jennifer Watson, should you have any questions or concerns about your upcoming course! Be well and please wash your hands (with soap)!
