Three years have passed already since the Working At Heights training program was legislated as mandatory and implemented by the Ministry of Labour in spring of 2015 for those in on Ontario construction sites or projects, and thousands have successfully been trained. With the expiry dates looming on those to take their training in spring and summer of 2015, we are excited to now be offering the much anticipated refresher training!

Why do learners need refresher training?

Refresher training will reinforce key learning outcomes for workers and supervisors, and will also keep learners up-to-date on any legislative, regulatory or equipment changes which may impact working at heights in construction and other sectors. Not to mention, maintaining valid Working At Heights training in a CPO-Approved program is mandatory for workers on a construction site or project in Ontario.

Who can take refresher training?

Only learners who have successfully completed their Working At Heights training are able to attend a refresher training course.

When do learners need refresher training?

Learners who need their Working At Heights to remain valid for their employment or educational program must register and successfully complete a refresher training program PRIOR to the expiry date listed on their proof of training card.

Will learners receive a new proof of training card when they complete the refresher training?

Yes, a certificate of completion will be provided to those who successfully complete the requirements for the program. Immediately upon successful completion, candidates will receive a temporary card which will remain valid until their Proof Of Training card is received in the mail directly from the Ministry of Labour. This usually takes between three to six weeks, though the temporary card remains valid until that is received.
